Training Foundation, in collaboration with Voortman Softball, Calgary presents the 2021 Virtual Grassroots Softball Coaches Clinic (3 days) beginning Saturday, February 20th at 9am. All Speakers are either current Division 1 Coaches or former Division 1 athletes. This clinic will be geared to those parents/coaches that are working with athletes at the grassroots level specifically 10-14 years of age BUT does not mean those coaches working with younger or older athletes will not still benefit. An unbelievable experience to begin your coaching or continue learning.

Dynamic Warmup for Youth Softball Players presented by Jessica Leemans - Jessica graduated in 2015 after completing her BSc, MSA and MSc and is currently completing her Doctorate in Elite Performance, focusing on injury prevention for some of the most problematic sports injuries. Trainer at Training Foundation, Okotoks and Evolve Strength, Calgary.

One of the longest tenured players on the women’s national team, Kaleigh Rafter has been part of Team Canada since 2007. Since competing at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, she has amassed an impressive international resume. At the WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship she has competed for Canada in every event since 2010 and was part of bronze medal-winning teams in 2010, 2016 and 2018. She has also competed in the last four Pan American Games, taking home silver medals in 2007, 2011 and 2019 and gold at the 2015 competition in Toronto. In 2013 and 2014 she played professional softball in Japan for Team Honda. Her collegiate career was split between the University of Detroit (2005-07) and Florida State University (2009) where she transferred after the 2008 Olympics to join Coach Lonni Alameda who had worked with Team Canada for the Games.
Coaching Career: Coached for one season at the University of New York at Buffalo in 2015. In 2016 then moved to Charlottesville Virginia to coach the University of Virginia in the ACC. Coached at UVA for 3 seasons until 2019.
Getting into the Sport: Started playing softball at age 5 because her older brother played baseball… Outside Interests: Florida State University (graduated 2010 with Bachelor in criminology then 2011 Masters in Criminology then 2012 Masters in Sports Management)… Enjoys reading and biking… During off-season likes to travel and visit baseball stadiums…Odds and Ends: Favourite motto: “Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.”
