Born and raised in a baseball family in Peace River, Alberta, AJ attended High School in St. Albert, Alberta and went on to play college baseball in Merced, California. After his playing career AJ stayed on with the Merced Blue Devils becoming an Assistant Coach(Outfield & Catching Coach) for the program. He remained a part of the coaching staff in Merced for 7 years. This experience afforded AJ the opportunity to coach in Italy during the summer of 2002 helping athletes & coaches learn and grow a game that was not popular to their culture.
AJ returned to Canada in 2004 where he became involved with the Calgary Dawgs. He was the Assistant Coach with the 2004 Calgary Dawgs and later Head Coach for the 2008 & 2009 Okotoks Dawgs. During the Dawgs transition from Calgary to Okotoks, AJ went on to take over the Head Coaching position with the University of Calgary Dinos Baseball Team for 5 years. In 2012, AJ moved to Okotoks so that he could return to the Dawgs organization as Program Head Coach. He continued coaching within the Dawgs organization for 5 years and during that time was invited to coach in Tournament 12 at The Rogers Center in Toronto, Ontario. He has also been given honorary mention in Bob Elliot’s list of the 100 Most Influential Canadians in Baseball.
Over the past 7 years, AJ has remained actively involved in baseball by running baseball camps, coaching clinics, acting as the Technical Director for FMBA and coaching his oldest son’s baseball team for the past 3 years. During this time AJ was also instrumental in founding the Absolute Softball Academy as well as a Girl’s Baseball Camp in Okotoks. For both of these programs AJ was able to line up some of Canada’s and Alberta’s top female players to lead the programs. With over 25+ years of working with athletes on the field and in the weightroom AJ is excited to start helping young athletes build their foundation both physically and mentally.

Being Mom to my two daughters has been both the greatest gift and biggest challenge of my life. I realized fairly early into my journey through motherhood that mom guilt is a very real feeling, and even though it can be a challenge at first, it is critical to take care of our own needs in order to be able to give our best selves to our families and loved ones. Time can be hard to find in our hectic schedules, but I have learned the importance of not only finding the time, but making the time to fill my cup. For me, that is exercising. I have always found it rewarding to work towards and attain personal goals, leaving me with a sense of achievement, as well as a healthy mind and body that helps me to stay solid for myself and my family.
Over the years I have discovered a passion for sharing my knowledge with others whose lives can benefit from a healthy mind and a strong body. Working with people to achieve their goals, no matter how big or small they may be, gives me a great sense of pride. I’m eager to help anyone who feels ready to accept my support in finding balance and enjoying the many benefits that fitness can bring to their lives.

An appetite for life and learning she candidly and passionately explores the facets of everyday life, events, emotions, and stories with the intention of finding the lessons and teachings buried in the normalcy of daily living.
Tanya has been teaching yoga since 2012; and since then as acquired multiple trainings including a 300-hr advanced training in myofacial based yoga. Currently she is offering a Postpartum yoga series designed with mums in mind. Mums that can’t always get away from the house, don’t always have a spare hour to invest in their self-care, mums that are desperately needing and wanting physical activity but don’t know where to start, or how to start safely and gently.
This series is digital so can be done in the privacy of your home; it’s pre-recorded, which means you can do the classes on your and your baby's schedule. The classes are each 25-30 minutes long. Sequences are gentle, and designed specifically to help rehabilitate a postpartum body, mind, and overall wellbeing.

AJ was a game changer for me as an athlete at the college level. He was the main reason I had the opportunity to play Professional baseball. He took my game from a raw young player to a well rounded 5 tool strong player. Ive done a lot of camps with AJ in previous years and nobody puts their heart and soul into something like AJ does. If they are 7 or 17 this is your guy to teach hard commitment and strength. You wont be disappointed..now get to work!!.
AJ always got the best out of his players. Playing for him, I was always challenged to leave it all out on the field and better myself as a player. He pushed me in my daily work that helped me become the competitor and player I am today. I thank AJ for pushing me to become a better teammate and athlete daily.
